The Marine Café (www.marine-café.com) is an online journal providing authoritative insight and opinion on maritime developments in the Philippines. It is published every fortnight by Metro Manila-based One Planet Web Development.
The Marine Café is not financed or supported by any outside group. This gives it the editorial independence to write about industry developments as it sees fit.
The editorial team is headed by Fred Pundol as Editorial Director. A seasoned maritime journalist, Mr Pundol was a long-time correspondent for the UK-based Seatrade group of publications and has contributed to international journals based in the UK, US, Hongkong and Singapore.
The Marine Café website is designed and maintained by the professional web architects and programmers of One Planet Web Development.
What's in the Name
The name 'Marine Café'
was inspired by the classic tradition of the European coffeehouse
- a place to relax in and exchange ideas with kindred souls. The
website is an attempt to revive this popular forum for discussion
and present marine industry news in a different way.
